EARLY CASUALTY
Democratic 11th District Congresswomen Haley Stevens (D-Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, western Oakland and parts of western Wayne counties) has attracted her share of GOP opposition for the 2020 election cycle. But one Republican contender has already decided to drop out. Dillon Breen, a Schoolcraft College trustee, announced on October 14 that the “time commitment” made the “process challenging.” Time might not have been the only challenge Breen faced as Stevens continues to build up stature in the district and a hefty war chest of contributions. Left standing in the GOP column at this point is Whitney Williams of Canton, a model, auto show worker and Trump acolyte in terms of issue positions.
